Automatic Updates

Schedule Automatic Updates – Windows XP:

  1. Click on Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System
  2. On the Automatic Updates tab, click Automatically download the updates, and install them on the schedule that I specify
  3. Select Every day and choose a time you want to download and install updates.
  4. On the scheduled day and time, you will receive the message Windows is ready to begin installing the updates available for your computer. Do you want Windows to install the updates now? Click YES

Schedule Automatic Updates – Windows Vista:

  1. Click on Start, then Control Panel, then Security
  2. Under Security, click Turn automatic updating on or off.
  3. Select “Install updates automatically (recommended) and select a schedule.
