Norton Anti-Virus

On this page:

Update virus definitions:

  1. Click the Start Menu > Programs > Norton Antivirus > Norton Antivirus. The Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition window will appear.
     
  2. Click the button labeled Live Update

     
  3. Click Next. This will download the latest updates.
     

Scan for viruses:

  1. Click the Start Menu > Programs > Norton Antivirus > Norton Antivirus. The Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition window will appear.
     
  2. In the left pane, under Scan, click Scan Computer

     
  3. In the right pane, click the check box next to C: drive. If you have additional hard disks, check those boxes as well.
     
  4. Click the Scan button.
     

    5. Norton will now scan your computer for viruses.

Turn on auto-protect:

  1. Open Norton Anti-Virus

     
  2. Click the options button, and select Norton Anti-Virus

     
  3. Select Auto-Protect in the system section in the upper left. Check the boxes labeled:
    • Enable Auto-Protect
    • Start Auto-Protect when Windows starts up


     

  4. Select Script Blocking in the left pane, and check the box labeled: Enable Script Blocking

     
  5. Select Email in the left pane, and check the boxes labeled:
    • Scan incoming Email
    • Scan outgoing Email
    • Enable Worm Blocking


     

  6. Select Live update in the left pane, and check the boxes labeled:
    • Enable automatic LiveUpdate
    • Apply virus protection updates
    • Notify me of Norton program updates


     

  7. Click OK. Your virus scanner will now automatically check for updates automatically.
