Printing to Birnam Wood
Setting up your computer to use the Birnam Wood community building printer is more complicated than other printers because it supports color printing and copying.
Installing and configuring the printer
The following steps will guide you through selecting the Birnam Wood printer and installing any necessary drivers. After the printer is installed, you need to change some settings so your documents print in black & white.
- Install the Birnam Wood printer (all you need to do is follow the link)
- Click Start, then select Printers and Faxes from the menu. (If Printers and Faxes isn’t in the menu, click Start, then Control Panels, and select Printers and Faxes from the list of control panels.)
- Right-click the Birnam Wood printer (”prbw101 on ipp://140.160.246.110“), and select Printing Preferences… from the menu.

- Click the Quality tab and change the Color Mode: from “Auto Detect” to “Black and White.” Click OK.

The printer is now installed and you should be able to print to the Birnam Wood community building like any other printer.
Printing things in color
The Birnam Wood printer supports color laser printing. If you’re interested, install the color printer. The B&W and color printers can be installed at the same time; you can choose either one whenever you print. Color prints are $.25 each page and will be deducted from the copy balance stored on your Western Card.
