Google

  1. Google offers a free web-based calendar to anyone. You do not need to have a Gmail account (although Gmail is also a great tool); simply use any other e-mail address, such as your MyWestern e-mail.
  2. The sign-up process is pretty straight forward, and there are instructions to help you along.
  3. Once you’re into your calendar, there are a number of things you can do.
  4. To add an event, click the Create Event link.
  5. For What put in a name for the event that will make sense to you.
  6. When is where you put the starting & ending dates and time (if it is less than one day, the starting and ending dates will obviously be the same).
  7. If this is a recurring event, select how often it occurs from the Repeats drop-down box.
  8. Where should hold the location of the event.
  9. Description is a description of the event so you remember what it is you’ve scheduled.
  10. Next you can set up a reminder for yourself, set whether you appear as available or busy to others who can view your calendar, and tell Google Calendar whether or not people linked to your calendar can see this event.
