vista release/renew your ip

These instructions will guide you in releasing and renewing your IP address. If you are already registered on the network, this will refresh your current IP address.

  1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center. On the left hand side, click Diagnose and Repair
  2. Now click Manage Network Connections on the left, right click Local Area Connection on the right and select Status and then Details.
  3. Find where it says IPv4 IP Address and see how your current IP begins:
      67.201.x.x: Your computer is registered on our network and you should now have an Internet connection. Try restarting your computer. If your computer is still having difficulties accessing the Internet, contact ResTek.

      169.254.x.x: Further troubleshooting is needed. See 169 IP troubleshooting.

      192.168.x.x: If you are not connected using a router, further troubleshooting is needed and you should contact ResTek. If you are connecting to the network through a router, please double check the connect a wireless router instructions.

      10.201.x.x: Your computer has a temporary, unregistered IP. Open your web browser and you should get the ResTek Network Registration page. If you do not see this page, please view these additional connection troubleshooting instructions.
