Step 1: Find Your MAC Address

  1. Power up the Playstion 4 without any disc in the drive
  2. Navigate to the “Settings” icon (located on the far left).

  5. If you are using an Ethernet cable, copy the LAN Cable MAC Address. If connecting wirelessly, copy the Wi-Fi Mac Address.

Step 2: Register on MyResTek

After locating your MAC address, use this link to register your device with ResTek.

To Connect Wired

  • Plug your device into the active ethernet jack (orange) in your room (generally labeled ‘A’ or the left port)
  • Ensure that your device is set to obtain IP settings automatically. This will vary by device but should be some variation of ‘Automatic’
  1. Go to the “Settings” Menu
  2. Scroll down to “Network”
  3. Select “LAN Cable”
  4. Select “Easy”

To Connect Wirelessly

  1. Go to the “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll down to “Network”
  3. Select “Set up Internet Connection”
  4. Select “Use Wi-Fi”
  5. Select “Easy”
  6. Select the network “WWUResTek-alt”
  7. If it prompts you for a proxy server select “Do Not Use”

Playstation 3

Step 1: Find Your MAC Address

  1. Power up the PlayStation 3 without any disc in the drive.
  2. Once the PlayStation 3 operating system has loaded, select “Settings.”
  3. Once you are in “Settings” select “Network Settings.”

  4. When the “Network Settings” list appears, select the first option whichis titled “Settings and Connection Status List.”

  5. The physical address will be listed under “MAC Address.” Write thisnumber down and submit a device registration at our Device Registrationpage.

Step 2: Register on Myrestek

After locating your MAC address, use this link to register your device with ResTek.

To Connect Wired

To Connect Wirelessly

  • General Instructions: Once your device has been approved, you will have access to the hidden network WWUResTek-alt. This network must manually added as it will not be visible in a scan.
  • If prompted, Authentication Type is None or Open and Encryption is Disabled. All wireless enabled devices should be able to connect to this network once approved. If you are having trouble, remember that the network name is CaSe SeNsItIvE, and must be typed exactly as displayed above.
  1. Settings –> Network Settings –> Internet connection settings
  2. Select Easy then Wireless, then Enter Manually
  3. Set SSID: WWUResTek-alt (case sensitive!)
  4. WLAN Security Setting: None
  5. Set all Address and DNS settings to Automatic (if prompted)
  6. Choose all default options if not explicitly stated here
  7. Press (X) to save settings
